Comedian Tim Allen, a former drug dealer who found fame in the TV series Home Improvement, has been awarded his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Allen, 51, was flanked by pals Jamie Lee Curtis and Jay Leno as his bronze-edged marker on the pavement of Los Angeles' Hollywood Boulevard was unveiled.
Allen spent 28 months in prison in the late 1970s for drug dealing. After being released, he started a career as a stand-up comic on a dare from a friend.
He parlayed his success into a starring role on the sitcom Home Improvement, and made his movie debut in the 1994 comedy The Santa Clause. His books, Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here, have both been on the bestseller lists.
