Chris Brown doesn't need much introduction. But that's what the 16-year-old American R&B star is getting when he arrives in New Zealand for a promo tour this month. His first single Run It took the number one spot on the charts for four weeks. His self-titled debut album has sold more than a million copies worldwide and is already platinum in New Zealand. Brown arrives on May 29. It is not yet known if he will perform as part of the tour.
Another kind of R&B artist is also coming, although Charlie Musselwhite plays rhythm and blues of the old-school variety. This will be Musselwhite's third visit to New Zealand. Among his 20 albums is the classic Stand Back! from 1966. He tours the country in September, reaching Auckland's SkyCity Theatre for the last gig on September 24. Midge Marsden & Bullfrog Rata play support.
