A Sydney man has gone viral with his Facebook event to go grab some McDonald's chicken nuggets.
One man's trip to get McDonald's chicken nuggets with a small group of mates has turned into a social media phenomenon, with almost 4000 people wanting to join him.
Corey Dunkin just wanted a sociable night of small talk and crispy, golden poultry at the fast food chain's George Strestaurant in Sydney, news.com.au reports.
So, the 30-year-old web developer and illustrator thought it would be funny to create a Facebook "event" for such a mundane occasion and set about inviting a handful of friends.
"I'm going to get some Chicken McNuggets if anyone wants to come get some," Mr Dunkin wrote on the event page. "Will probably get some sweet 'n sour sauce to go along with it idk (I don't know)."
A couple of friends said they would attend and Mr Dunkin said he was looking forward to a quiet evening at the popular city centre establishment.

"It just started out as a bit of a joke, because it was the least amount of effort I could put into an event and I just wanted to see who would join me for some chicken nuggets," said Mr Dunkin, who started the page in mid-August.
"I was going to go anyway, so I thought I'd see who wanted to come along. I didn't say there was going to be a party or anything exciting was going to happen.
"I sent invites to about 20 mates and, to be honest, I just forgot about it for a bit because nothing was happening with it.
"But, just a couple of weeks later, I looked at my phone and there was 40 notifications from Facebook of random people posting on the page. I looked at the event and it said 700 people were attending.
"Then, within a couple of days, it just spiralled and went viral. Two days later there was 2000 people attending and then in a few more days it was 3000."
Now, almost 9500 people have clicked that they are 'interested' and 3759 people said they are 'going' to eat nuggets with Mr Dunkin on Friday evening at 7pm.
"I couldn't help but laugh and I just kept laughing when I saw how many people said they were coming - it was just absurd," said Mr Dunkin.
"I don't know what's actually going to happen on the night, there might be nobody there except me and a few mates, there might be heaps of people there who I don't know and it could get pretty nuts.
"The main thing is, I'm going to go and do what I set out to - which is get some chicken nuggets."
Worried about how Macca's will cope with a potential army of fast food enthusiasts, Mr Dunkin messaged both the George St restaurant and McDonald's Australia to warn them of a potential mass influx.
On Wednesday, McDonald's responded to Mr Dunkin.
"Hey Corey, we love that you love McNuggets and we get it, so we've reserved you and your friends a table on Friday night and will have a register just for McNuggets, so you can enjoy them as quickly as possible."
A McDonald's spokeswoman said: "We're looking forward to welcoming Corey and his friends on Friday night. We've reserved an area, and at our front counter there will be a dedicated register just for McNuggets.
"Wait times may be a little longer than usual, but rest assured, we'll have plenty of McNuggets to go around. And of course, customers can also get their hands on delicious McNuggets by visiting any of our other restaurants in Sydney."
