This weekend there's plenty on for the gents. Girls, embrace your inner tomboy, get out there with your guy mates or make your Manfriend smile from ear to ear with these boy-ish options.

Try the best pies

This week we learnt that the very best pie in the country is a classic Kiwi combo of mince and cheese. And the bakery that created the New Zealand Supreme Pie Awards winner is Greenland Bakery & Cafe out in Botany. This mince and cheese beauty, crafted by baker David Liem, was described by the judges as being "impeccable" with the perfect balance of filling. It's a fact that this bakery will be packed on the back of the Bakels NZ Pie Awards and nabbing yourself the prized pie this weekend might be tricky. But I'll give it a go. Get stuck into some boutique beers

Craft beer is having a moment. And with the weather set to be warm this weekend I reckon it's time to whet the pallet with a crisp, cold pint. This weekend I will be checking out the Brothers Beer brewery and tasting lounge sitting in the trendy City Works Depot. They've got 18 beers on tap to sample and over 200 different bottles of craft brews from NZ, Australia, the US and Europe.

Check out the BMX World Champs:

Right now Vector Arena is all ramped up for the UCI 2013 BMX World Champs. The world's best riders will be fighting for their right to wear the coveted world champion's rainbow jersey for the next 12 months. This is the first time the World Championships have been held in New Zealand, and thrills and spills are guaranteed.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am. Vector Arena, 42-80 Mahunu Cres, Auckland. Tickets $9-29.

Watch the Warriors (have a win!!):

A win for the Warriors against the Storm this weekend will bag them a spot in the top eight. The Kiwi side will welcome Melbourne to Mt Smart on Sunday for the crucial game that has the potential to send a very loud message to the rest of the competition. Despite being an Aussie, I'm a loud and proud Warriors fan and will be down there, in my jersey, for kick-off at 2pm.
