He knew his sister was so crazy about animals that she'd keep on and on until he agreed. He stood up and said, "Just a quick run, right? And only around the farmyard, Abbi. You can't go up on the moor in this weather."
Abbi smiled. "Keep still, Polar," she said as she put a collar and lead on the excited puppy.
Justin, Rory and Abbi pulled on their coats, boots and gloves, and stepped outside into the yard at High Farm. They walked into a wintry world. Snow was falling from a grey sky. It was mid-afternoon but already the light was fading. Beyond the farmyard a chill wind whistled across the snowy moor.
"Remember," warned Justin, "we stay in the farmyard, right?"
"Right," said Abbi.
Rory wiped the snowflakes from his glasses.
