A burst of wind splattered leaves against the window. Peter sighed. Damn, damn, damn! The weather forecast was never right. He wandered back. Mum was in the lounge with her feet up, reading a book. She worked full time in a bank. "I'm stuffed too," she'd tell Dad the moment he said he was. "Today we were rushed off our feet. The computers were playing up and customers did nothing but complain. I'm exhausted." Dad had no chance when Mum started moaning.
Peter turned off the video. The house was silent. His brother Oliver had gone out with Sharlene, the latest girlfriend. He was eighteen and thought he knew everything about girls - having already had twenty-three girlfriends at the last count.
