We'll watch the video together, Dad had said. Huh! He'd fallen asleep within minutes. It was a dumb video anyway. Peter went out to the conservatory and stared at the rain. The forecast yesterday said it wouldn't rain until later in the afternoon, but the rain had come early enough this morning to cancel the day's planned surfcasting. On the first Sunday that Dad had had off for yonks! Who knew when he'd have another one? It was puke-making.Peter shoved his hands in his pockets and slouched around the room. If the rain had held off a bit longer they'd at least have made it to the beach. Just him and Dad, the waves, wind and sand. Once you were there, the rain didn't matter.
