A Tumblr called 'The Last Message Received' collects submissions of the last messages people received from their former friends, ex-partners or deceased loved ones. The results are as heartbreaking as you might expect.
The Tumblr is the brainchild of 15-year-old Emily Trunko from Ohio, who previously started 'Dear My Blank', a platform for people to pen anonymous letters. She told BuzzFeed: "I thought that the last message sent before a breakup or before someone passed away would be really poignant ... I've always been fascinated with glimpses into the lives of other people."
Sometimes the last messages received are relationship breakups, like one from a man who tactlessly wrote "I just can't be seen with someone that looks like you do."
Other times they contain the last communications with a loved one before their unexpected death.
