Sure Barbie has had her critics over the years, and is no longer as popular as she once was. But, in 1992, every girl wanted Totally Hair Barbie. With her crimped blonde hair and psychedelic minidress she was a triumph of the 90s.
4. Talkboy recorder
In 1992 Macaulay Culkin used a cassette player recorder in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The following year it was made into a working retail version and kids went nuts.
5. Easy-Bake Oven
Of course an oven that actually works would be an instant hit!
6. Sky Dancers
Magical, beautiful little fairies... Until they spun up and into your face. In 2000 Galoob, the manufacturer, recalled the toys.
7. Slap bracelets
A toy AND a fashion statement, slap bracelets were the ultimate 90s must-have.
8. Guess Who?
The original mystery face-guessing game.
9. Trolls
Big eyes, fluffy hair, plastic bodies. One troll was never enough.
10. Beanie Babies
According to Wikipedia, nine original Beanie Babies were launched in November 1991: Legs the Frog, Squealer the Pig, Spot the Dog, Flash the Dolphin, Splash the Whale, Chocolate the Moose, Patti the Platypus, Brownie the Bear (later renamed "Cubbie"), and Pinchers the Lobster (with some tag errors with "Punchers"). They were not in factory production until 1994.
