By ERIC WALTERS
We'd been bounced around pretty good. I just thought it was sort of like an extra-long roller coaster, and I love riding roller coasters. My sister didn't like amusement park rides. She said she'd be quite happy to ride a roller coaster if they let her drive. That wasn't likely. She even insisted on riding in the front seat of the car because she said she got "motion sick." I always figured she was just saying that so she could sit up front and fiddle with the radio or because that was as close as she could get to being behind the wheel herself.
My sister definitely liked to be in charge. I didn't remember the ferry ever affecting her this way before, but I also didn't remember the ride ever being this rough on any of our other trips. Of course, maybe I wasn't remembering right because it had been almost three years since her last time aboard.
Looking at Beth now, her face a strange shade of grey, I was beginning to believe that maybe she hadn't been kidding all along about a weak stomach.
