"Natty felt stung. "No!" she yelled. "It's not Prince's fault. I'll prove it. I'll find out who is putting rubbish in Mrs Lockgate's garden!"
She threw her half-eaten sandwich down on her plate. Suddenly, she was no longer hungry. She pushed back her chair and stomped away from the table. Natty had to talk to Thurston. Surely he would help, if only to save Prince.
She gave Prince an extra hug and snapped on his leash. As they headed out the door, she shoved her bag of books out of the way. She did like reading mysteries, she thought, as she walked Prince down the street to Thurston's house. Now she had a real mystery to solve. But a real mystery was a lot more worry!
