Natty studied her well-fed Welsh corgi, then looked at the tall iron fence all around the garden.
"Mrs Lockgate," she said, "I don't think Prince could have fitted through your fence unless the gate was open. And, anyway, Prince stays inside, except when we walk him on the leash."
"Well then it must be children," snapped Mrs Lockgate. "I want it stopped! And I want it stopped right now."
Natty gulped hard. There were only two children living on their street herself and Thurston. Natty knew that Thurston would never do such a thing. But who would? Weren't Mum and Dad always saying that you could trust everyone who lived on this street?
Natty helped Mrs Lockgate to clean up the rubbish before she went home.
