Fast food has been taken to a whole new level at KFC with the Double Down Dog - a hot dog wrapped in a cheese-stuffed chicken breast, smothered in cheese sauce.
The fried "dog" follows in the footsteps of the infamous Double Down Burger - bacon and melted cheese sandwiched between two slabs of the Colonel's famous fried chicken fillets - which first hit counters here in 2011 and was brought back by popular demand.
Korea were also given a taste of the Zinger Double Down King last year, adding a meat patty and some extra sauce to the original mix.
Both contained about 750 calories.
"KFC always listens to its customers and brought the Double Down to New Zealand for the first time in May 2011 after a KFC customer set up a Facebook Page 'Bring the Double Down to New Zealand' that attracted almost 3000 likes," Restaurant Brands chief executive Russel Creedy said at the time.
