Possibly the most gory horror flick you'll ever find, it opens with a 1978 police assault on a farmhouse where 75 murders have taken place. Inside the Firefly family shoots it out with the sheriff (William Forsythe). Mother Firefly (Leslie Easterbrook) is captured but Otis (Bill Moseley) and sister Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) escape to meet up with their mean'n'nasty father, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig).

The sheriff realises the family have named themselves after Groucho Marx characters (Otis P. Driftwood, Rufus T. Firefly, Captain Spaulding) and calls in a film critic as his profiler. Which offers a little relief from the unrelenting blood and guts offered by Rob Zombie, better known as a composer and music video producer.
