British glam rockers The Darkness are set to have a street named after them in their hometown.
Councillors in Lowestoft, Norfolk, want to honour rock superstar Justin Hawkins and his band after their Brit Awards win.
Waveney District Councillor Wendy Mawer, 62, said the band, who are about to tour the US, loved the idea.
"I have suggested that we name a road after them because three of the band, including Justin, are from Lowestoft," she said. "I don't think Darkness Close would be very popular but I am keen on Hawkins Close or Hawkins Way.
"Their agent has told us they would be absolutely honoured."
Conservative Councillor Mawer added: "I feel we should do something to celebrate their success. The band have always loudly proclaimed that they come from Lowestoft. We are trying to regenerate the area and anything that adds to this is positive. They are icons for young people in this area."
