I don't know where my sister Tess got the idea. Mum says she's a magpie, always collecting things. I think she's got Collector Mania. I think she was born with it.
It began with dummies. Yes, dummies! When she was a baby she had about a dozen of them hanging from her cot and pram. By the time she was four it was plugs. That was a really embarrassing one. You'd think plugs would be hard to collect. I mean we only have three in our house - the sink plug in the kitchen, the bath plug and the washbasin plug. That meant that Tess had to collect other people's plugs. Well, I'm being kind. She had to steal other people's plugs. Wherever we went, Tess would come home with a plug in her pocket.
