The world's most popular band, the Beatles, are finally telling their story - and Herald Online readers will be among the first in the world to read it.
After more than 40 unofficial biographies and decades of speculation about went on behind the scenes, the three surviving Beatles have come together with Yoko Ono Lennon to record --- on paper --- the Beatles Anthology.
The 368-page book gives their side of the crazy years of fame, drug-taking and their bitter break-up.
Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have been meeting for more than six years to set the record straight, and their book includes quotes from the late John Lennon.
The anthology features 1300 photos, many never before published.
Priced at $NZ175, it is set to be a collectable for fans when it goes on sale in early October.
Online for one day only...
Through a special arrangement with the Beatles' publisher, the Herald Online will give readers an advance look at the Beatles Anthology this Saturday (Sept 23) when we run an exclusive extract from the book for one day only.
The following weekend a second extract will tell more of the inside story. Find out who really broke up the band and what they think of each other now.
But remember, your exclusive extracts from the Beatles Anthology will be available online for one day only.
Be sure to visit the Herald Online this Saturday for part one.
