By JOY COWLEY
"Some people think number thirteen is unlucky." Dad strained the spaghetti.
"Why?" asked Todd.
"Don't ask me! It's just the same as people believing they'll have bad luck if they walk under a ladder or break a mirror. I guess we really do have a floor thirteen, but it's called fourteen."
"That's silly!" cried Todd.
His father smiled and draped a long strand of spaghetti over his nose. With a quick flick, he grabbed the end in his mouth and sucked it up like a worm. He licked his lips. "I kind of like living in a silly world," he said.
"There are different kids of silly," replied Todd. "Having no floor thirteen is just plain stupid silly."
"I can live with that, too," said Dad. "Pour the pasta sauce on this spaghetti and let's eat."
