Hundreds of young top model hopefuls went through their own elimination round yesterday when New Zealand Fashion Week held its annual casting call.
Fashion Week spokeswoman Anna Jobz said the hopefuls had mixed emotions.
"Mostly they were excited to be there, but there were a few nervous faces."
Representatives from many of the country's top fashion houses - including Annah Stretton, the Stolen Girlfriends Club, Stitch Ministry and Nom*D - turned up to the Viaduct venue to cast their eye over the models.
Designers were selecting catwalk models for Fashion Week shows, which will take place between September 21 and 25.
While six different modelling agencies brought clients to the call, Anna Jobz said Nova stood out by offering designers extravagant refreshments: "They served champagne and canapes."
