Sweden's Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia, a former reality show starlet, are expecting their first child in April.
"We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it," the prince and princess said in a statement on Thursday.
Carl Philip, 36, is the second child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. He married Sofia Hellqvist, an elegant brunette commoner known for her infectious gap-toothed smile and easygoing ways, in June.
The prince's elder sister, Crown Princess Victoria, is also pregnant and due to give birth to her second child in March.
She and her husband Prince Daniel are already parents to Estelle, born in February 2012.
