Superman flying high at box office

Superman is still a superhero at the American box office.

Superman Returns took in US$52.15 million ($86 million) over the weekend, lifting its five-day total since its debut to US$84.2 million.

The weekend's other new wide release, The Devil Wears Prada, starring Meryl Steep as a ruthless magazine editor, made a stronger debut than expected to come in second with US$27 million.
