The gurus of dressing to hide your bumps, lumps and rolls have shown Kiwi audiences how to make an impression - with their potty-mouths.
Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, stars of television's What Not To Wear and Undress The Nation, seemed to have been taking tips from Gordon Ramsay at their show in West Auckland on Thursday.
Some audience members were shocked to hear the f-word peppered through the appearance at a Westfield shopping mall, packed with school-holiday crowds.
"It did obviously make my ears prick up a lot," said Rita Allsopp. "But everyone knows what Trinny and Susannah are like."
One woman chosen for a make-over reportedly told the pair her husband had dumped her and moved to Australia, prompting Trinny to say, "f*** the husband" when her new look was revealed.
A mall employee said, "For the mall and type of show maybe it wasn't appropriate but, personally, it wasn't a huge offence."
Kerre Woodham, MC for the shopping mall shows, said the language wasn't out of order.
"You'd hear worse from the teenagers who've been dropped off at the mall by their parents," she said.
Woodham said Trinny warned the audience to cover children's ears before admonishing them for "all wearing f***ing black".
She said the pair's effect on the women who were made-over was "really quite extraordinary".
"They gave attention, they gave confidence, they reinvigorated.
"For many women it was the first time somebody had seen them as women."
Westfield NZ spokeswoman Deb McGhie said Westfield didn't condone inappropriate language in its centres, and Trinny and Susannah were made aware the shows were in school holiday time.
"The hallmark of the Trinny & Susannah show, however, is their impromptu delivery and candid relationship with the audience."
