The Rolling Stones' European "Bigger Bang" tour due to start on July 11 appeared to be under renewed threat yesterday as guitarist Ronnie Wood was admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in London for treatment for alcohol abuse.
His spokesman said Wood "will definitely be fit for the first night".
The tour was delayed as band member Keith Richards recovered from brain surgery in New Zealand after falling out of a coconut tree while on holiday in Fiji.
