Auckland Domain's stinky flower could bloom this weekend, says a Winter Garden spokeswoman.
Lisah Henry said the flower, officially named Amorphophallus titanium but more commonly called the "corpse flower" because of its smell in bloom, had been on track to flower earlier, but cooler weather slowed it down.
Ms Henry said a weekend bloom would be nice, because lots of people would get the chance to come and take a sniff.
The flower last bloomed in December 2013 and 17,400 people came to smell it.
