Stereophonics hit top spot with 'Dakota'

Welsh rockers the Stereophonics announced their comeback to the UK music scene by going straight to the top of the singles charts with Dakota.

The band, whose last major hit was Handbags & Gladrags in 2001, have taken the song from their new album Language, Sex, Violence, Other.

US rap star Nelly's track Over and Over featuring country singer Tim McGraw slipped to this week's number two after spending just one week at the top.

Elvis Presley's Rock-A-Hula Baby went straight to number three, continuing the King's string of successful re-releases.
