By SIMON GRANT, Illustrator KATE WELLS
Fester Snips was a very small and exceedingly gloomy boy. No one knew exactly why Fester was so gloomy. Some people said it was because his parents fussed and fretted all the time, and that they always made Fester eat spinach (even at the weekends) because they were worried about how small he was.
Stella didn't mind Fester, even though he made everything seem like sludge. But she did not want Fester to see Tim because he didn't understand animals and their special languages.
