Lauded American designer Marc Jacobs has nabbed another award - for the designer with the biggest celebrity pulling power.
Jacobs opened three new stores on Melrose Place in Los Angeles and the VIP guest list was a who's who of Hollywood's elite.
Models, actors, pop stars and celebrity socialites all vied for a piece of the spotlight at the event, held inside a technicolor and fairy-dust-themed tent, where dancers covered in little more than leaves and glitter gyrated to hip-hop and old-school favourites.
Celebrities entered the tent through a huge archway of more than 600,000 roses, where they were personally greeted by the celebrated designer.
Actresses Mena Suvari, Selma Blair, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon, joined socialites Nikki Hilton and Nicole Richie and models Amber Valletta and Carolyn Murphy as well as singer Jewel attended the swanky opening. Even Winona Ryder, the actress who helped herself to his cashmere tops from a Saks Fifth Avenue store and earned herself a court appearance in the process, was there to celebrate.
Forty-one-year-old Jacobs, who designs for Louis Vuitton, has long wanted his own store in Los Angeles.
But he couldn't open just one - instead he had to open three, stocking his high-end label as well as his diffusion line, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and a collection of shoes and handbags.
The interiors of the stores are evocative of the glory days of LA department stores - the antiques-filled space has an opulent strong 30s feel.
