Film director Steven Spielberg and his family will donate US$1.5 million ($2.14 million) to people displaced by the devastating tsunami in Asia.
The donation from the director of Jurassic Park and ET will be split between humanitarian agencies Save The Children, Care and Oxfam.
Although Spielberg's family normally made donations anonymously, this time they decided to publicise their action to encourage others to give to the relief effort, said a spokesman.
