Special message in Blindspott single

There's a special message behind the new Blindspott single, Yours Truly.

The band wrote the song after guitarist Marcus Powell's brother Winston died of cancer last year.

The single was released this week as a limited edition and entered the singles chart at number 31.

Each CD is personally hand-numbered by the band. Single number 1 will be auctioned online by Blindspott at trademe.com and the proceeds donated to Cancer Research.

Yours Truly is the first release from Blindspott's second album, which is due out later this year, nearly three years after their debut.

To celebrate the single's release the band play two shows, Friday May 13 at Altitude in Hamilton with Redline and One Must Fall, and Saturday May 14 in Auckland at Studio with Cold By Winter and Incursa.
