Three finalists have been named for this year's Screen Production and Development Association (SPADA) new film-maker of the year awards.
They include Toa Fraser, whose directing debut was the Sundance Film Festival audience award-winning No 2.
The second finalist is Sandor Lau, whose debut feature documentary Squeegee Bandit premiered at this year's Telecom NZ International Film Festival in Auckland.
The Simmonds Brothers - Jeff and Phill - were the third finalists with their 10-minute animation A Very Nice Honeymoon.
The winner, in line for $28,000 worth of prizes, will be announced at a Spada conference in Auckland from November 16 to 18.
