Local punk rockers Sommerset are splitting up after 10 years.

In celebration, and commiseration, original members, singer/guitarist Ryan Thomas, bass player Stefan Thompson, drummer Jay Dougrey and guitarist/singer Milon Williams play four final shows in June and July - two in Australia and two in New Zealand.

Sommerset started out in the mid 90s and in 1995 released their self-titled debut EP. Since then they have released the rough and ready Fast Cars Slow Guitars in 2001, a compilation, More Songs From Last Century in 2003, and the more polished Say What You Want last year.

The Sommerset dates are Annandale, Sydney, June 23; Evelyn, Melbourne, June 24; Indigo Bar, Wellington, July 1; and the Kings Arms, Auckland, July 2.
