Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) is a typical high school kid. His parents are not typical suburban folks: dad is the super-strong super-hero The Commander (Kurt Russell) and mom is Jetstream, a flying super-heroine in her own right (Kelly Preston).
So Will is sent to Sky High, a school where gifted students are trained as heroes. Ordinary kids become superhero sidekicks. Sky High is like any other high school: peer pressure, cool kids, cliques, bullies and mean girls, abusive PE coaches, girl and boy problems, the illicit party, the big dance, the threat of closure.
In short, a clean-cut family movie like Disney used to make. In fact, that Disney is making again, with cameos from Cloris Leachman and Lynda Carter.
There's little extra on the DVD: a Disney Channel behind-the-scenes, a blooper reel and Bowling for Soup music video, plus an extensive alternate opening and a short feature on the stunt-work.
