Newly-single Whitney Houston stepped out in style at a Beverly Hills fundraiser on Saturday night, outshining even the biggest of stars.
Halle Berry, Terri Hatcher, Sharon Stone and Warren Beattie were just some of the Hollywood celebrities that attended the event, which raised more than US$70 million ($105 million) for juvenile diabetes research.
But all eyes were on Houston during her first public appearance since she announced her impending divorce from husband Bobby Brown last month.
Accompanying her record producer Clive Davis, Houston was a picture of health and elegance - a far cry from the emaciated, bedraggled woman who shocked onlookers in 2001 at a Michael Jackson concert in Madison Square Garden.
Legendary music producer Quincy Jones, a long-time friend of Houston, told USA Today the 43-year-old singer had turned a corner.
"She's looking at the light, instead of darkness."
