Singenpoo was the only cat in the world who could read. She was fantastic at Scrabble. I took out the Scrabble board and set it up for a game.
She sprang over to the tiles, lifted up a paw and swiped at them furiously. The tiles flew across the carpet.
'Okay,' I said. 'Don't get mad at me. It's not my fault.'
Singenpoo walked over to the door and began scratching at it again.
Suddenly she squatted down in the middle of the new white carpet.
'Oh no,' I shrieked. 'No. Don't Singepoo.'
But I was too late. She did a small yellow wee right where you could see it.
I raced over and grabbed her.
'Okay,' I yelled. 'Okay. I didn't know that's what you wanted to do.'
I opened the door to look for the litter tray.
What an idiot.
Singenpoo wriggled and squirmed and slipped out of my hands.
As quick as a flash she bounded across the lawn and disappeared around the corner.
She had gone.
