A deli tasting session with Simon Gault
Simon Gault has opened a new deli shop at Sous Chef's Auckland distribution warehouse.
Sous Chef's beginnings were accidental. On his return to New Zealand after a year in Italy, Simon was back in the kitchen and wanted to create the dishes he'd become accustomed to. Sourcing ingredients was difficult, so he called his friends in Italy and asked them to send what he needed. Word got around and chef friends wanted to get their hands on these products, too. This soon turned into a full-blown business, with Simon flying in premium fresh products mainly from Italy and Spain to supply the New Zealand hospitality industry.
