Kirsten Morelle is the lead singer of New Zealand band Goldenhorse. The band, now four years old, released its debut album in 2002, Riverhead, which has sold more than 50,000 copies.
Who are your favourite fashion designers?
Kate Sylvester, Karen Walker and World. All New Zealand designers, of course.
What do you wear to work?
I'm lucky, whatever I want. Never my birthday suit, though.
What is your favourite accessory of the moment?
A second-hand brooch of a furry mouse.
What are the staple pieces for a good wardrobe?
Pixie boots, great jeans, cardigan, and a good, really simple jacket.
What is the last item of clothing you bought?
A raincoat for London! Oh, and some yummy tweedy skirts from Kate Sylvester. I like this season of fashion. It really suits my height restrictions and my sexy nana sensibilities.
What is your beauty routine?
I have sensitive skin, so I use Aesop everything - cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser. It's the best skin product I've found. I love it.
What item of makeup would you be lost without?
Well if I lost any of my M.A.C, I would definitely be on the point of tears.
Any fashion disasters you'd care to mention?
Plenty. It's hard not to mess up the clothes thing when you have so many different kinds of gigs. But the worst fashion disaster can be the best night you've had, so why worry.
Favourite hotels?
Hotels? Who said we get to stay in hotels?
What can't you live without?
I can't live without my M.A.C lip conditioner. Oh, and music.
Who does the best handbags?
The best bags are always in World.
What's your biggest indulgence?
At the moment, having a night off. And, if I did, I would sit in front of a movie eating Kapiti icecream or Ben's (our guitarist). His home-made icecream is sensational. But that's not very good for my bum.
What inspires you?
Reading, music, film, art, good wine, good vodka, nice company, intelligent debate, New Zealand beaches, swimming, cooking, gardening, the list goes on.
What was the last CD you bought?
Guided by Voices, Bee Thousand.
What was the last book you read?
Samuel Pepys: The Unequalled Self. It's a brilliant read about the diarist ... you get such vivid picture of life in 17th-century London.
Who cuts your hair?
Louise at Servilles Ponsonby.
