Pop star Beyonce has announced she will be collaborating with Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti to create a shoe.
It's not the first time the singer has taken on the fashion world - in 2005 she launched a fashion line with her mother, Tina Knowles, called House of Dereon - and the Drunk in Love diva is definitely not the first celebrity to dip her toes into the world of shoe design.
To celebrate Queen Bey's foray in to footwear, we round up six more high profile designers.
Angelina Jolie
Following the release of her 2014 film Maleficent, Angelina Jolie and legendary French shoe designer Christian Louboutin launched a limited edition shoe line inspired by her character, the Mistress of All Evil.
The patent leather heels come in black and red, with panels of nude mesh and sculpted heels resembling curls of smoke. They were worn by the actress during the promotional tour for the film and retailed for a hefty NZ$1874.
Profits from the shoe sales went to benefit the SOS Children's Villages, a charity for orphaned kids that Jolie has been closely involved with.
Kim Kardashian West
Kim K, along with sisters Khloe and Kourtney, launched her inaugural shoe collection in 2013.
The Kardashian Kollection includes "dramatic, sexy heels, show-stopping wedges, stunning flats and chic boots" at affordable prices.
However, the collection was lambasted by prominent fashion editor Teri Agins, of the Wall Street Journal, who compared the line to cheap Halloween costumes. The realty-TV sisters are also rarely seen wearing items from their own 'kollection'.
Kanye West
Kanye has been collaborating on sneaker designs since 2007, when the first Nike Air Yeezy's were developed, followed up by the Yeezy 2 in 2012. The sneakers were wildly anticipated, with 5000 pairs of each Yeezy 2 colour variant released. Sold for US$245 a pair originally, the re-sale value notoriously reached upwards of $4000.
The rapper and producer has also worked with Louis Vuitton, Bape and, like Beyonce, Guiseppe Zanotti. His most recent work, the Yeezy 750 Boost sneakers, were released by Adidas this year as part of a new collaboration.
Carlos Santana
Even legendary Latin-American guitarist Carlos Santana has his own shoe line, simply named 'Carlos'. The collection was founded after the success of his 1999 album Supernatural, as a way to increase the musician's philanthropic efforts through his charity the MIlagro Foundation
The designs are "inspired by the passion and energy that surround Santana's music" and are mostly very high heels, platforms and wedges with sassy vibrant colours and lots of leopard print.
On the collection, Santana told Forbes, "I learned very early in life that if the females are happy, then everyone is happy."
Madonna
Madonna launched her edgy fast fashion shoe line Truth or Dare in 2012, following the success of Material Girl, the fashion and accessory collection for young women she co-designed with daughter Lourdes.
The Truth or Dare collection started out as a temporary pop-up in UK chain Selfridges. As one would expect from Madonna, the collection featured lots of leather, studs, stilettos and over-the-knee boots inspired by the singer's legendary onstage costumes and everyday style.
Pharrell worked with Adidas to reinvent their classic Original Superstar shell toe sneaker by launching it in an impressive 50 different colours. This follows the previous success of his collaboration on the classic Stan Smith sneaker.
The rainbow-hued "Supercolor" range hopes to celebrate "equality through diversity" and the importance of personal choice.
In a preview for the collection, filmed in monochrome with splashes of colour from the iconic shoe, the Happy singer says, "Don't choose to sing because I chose to sing. Don't decide your style based on my style or anyone else's. What makes us all equal is that we can all choose for ourselves... Your choice is as important as mine."
