Serena Williams said she "cried" because she missed a major milestone in her baby girl's life because she had to work.
The tennis champ, who advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon on Friday, revealed in a Twitter post hours after the game that while she was in training her 10-month-old daughter Olympia was taking her first steps, reports Daily Mail.
"She took her first steps ... I was training and missed it. I cried," Williams posted.
"Herds of moms miss that. Kids are mean that way," Twitter user Steph S joked. "Don't beat yourself up over it. You'll miss a lot of firsts, but you'll see plenty too. Nobody but you is her her mom, you'll be together whenever it counts most!"
ESPN reporter Allison Bender told Williams she too missed her daughter's first steps because she's in Russia for the World Cup.
"I watched her first steps on a video. She'll be proud of you when she (grows) up," she posted.
Before Williams took the victory at Wimbledon on Friday, the superstar tennis player and married mother-of-one tended to her adorable baby girl Olympia.
Williams took to Snapchat moments before walking out on Center Court to share a few sweet videos of 10-month-old Olympia 'helping' her mom get ready for the big game in the Wimbledon bathroom.
In one video, Williams appears to be applying makeup as Olympia plays with her makeup case and grabs different items stuffing them in her mouth.
Williams, 36, takes them away from her daughter before giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Mama is almost done in here," Williams tells Olympia as the baby girl reaches up for her mom to pick her up.

"You did a really good job. But mommy needs you to help put this back in. Mommy needs to take this with her," she adds.
Another video shows Williams combing her hair. The tennis champ hands Olympia the comb asking the almost one-year-old if she wants to help her do her hair. Olympia instead grabs the comb and puts it in her mouth.
"No, you have to help mama with her hair," Williams says as she gently takes the comb from her daughter.
Once Williams was ready, she headed out to the court to face Kristina Mladenovic. Williams beat French tennis player 7-5 7-6 (7/2) in the third round on Friday, keeping alive her hopes of a 24th Grand Slam win.
This is Williams' fourth tournament since giving birth last September to Olympia, her first child with husband Alexis Ohanian.
"I am really happy," she said, according to The Telegraph.
"It's my serious second tournament back so it's going pretty well. I have worked really, really, really hard and it has been a long arduous road. I always expect to come out and do the best I can do and that's all I can hope for."
