Sam Gamgee

Sam Gamgee (Sean Astin): Frodo's servant, the embodiment of the word "loyal". Sam is a gardener in Hobbiton and has never been outside the Shire before he travels with Frodo to Mordor, where he plays a key role as a solid unbreakable support in the quest.

When Gandalf chooses him to accompany Frodo on his quest, Sam makes a simple promise not to lose his master and friend.
