In case you missed it: This was one of the Herald's top stories on social media this week.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that no matter how many bobby pins, hair elastics or tampons a woman purchases throughout her lifetime, you can never actually find one when you need it.
Meghan Markle might be a royal now, but at her wedding on Saturday the Duchess of Sussex faced a very ordinary problem: An annoying stray hair came loose from her trademark messy bun and she was without a bobby pin.
With no bridesmaids on hand to help her and poor Prince Harry too busy sweating nervous bullets to be of any assistance, Meghan and her out-of-place strand were left to their own devices for the hour-long ceremony.
It didn't take too long for the sisterhood to take notice of Meghan's annoying strand on social media.
Her hairstylist Serge Normant says it took just 45 minutes to create the bun, which he described as "messy in a controlled way".
"We woke up early, had a little coffee and then just went on. It was all smiles, it was just one of those dreamy moments to be honest. She was very happy. It was a beautiful morning, just the perfect morning to get married," Mr Normant said.
When asked how long it took to style Meghan's hair, Mr Normant said: "You know not that long, believe it or not.
"We had to blow dry it from wet, I would say 45 minutes to an hour. Then they did the make-up and then you fiddle around with it a little bit. But it's not that long.
"I always tend to try and go as fast as I can at these events. Nobody wants to sit around."
For the reception, Meghan changed up her entire look, including her hair and makeup.
She slipped into a stunning Stella McCartney dress, added a heavier smoky eye and a messy up-do that let out some wavy side pieces of hair to frame her face.
All day long, those pieces of hair had been begging for a chance to run wild and finally, they got their moment.
