But these previously unseen "out-takes" from the wedding album of Prince Charles and Princess Diana have a special charm all of their own.
They are from a set of 12 taken by Patrick Lichfield at the Buckingham Palace reception on July 29, 1981, which are to be sold at an auction in America next month.
We see Diana, 20, with her youngest bridesmaid Clementine Hasbro, five, who was her favourite pupil at the Young England kindergarten in Pimlico where she taught before getting married.
