It's the image that has gone around the world - Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge meeting a bare-bottomed member of the Defence Force's kapa haka group.
The man, dressed traditionally for the Maori welcome for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after their arrival at Government House in Wellington with Prince George this afternoon, was not exactly dressed for the rainy and windy conditions in Wellington today.
But the image, which has already appeared in British media and has been shared many times on social media and across the world, has captured the imaginations of royal-watchers everywhere.
Just a day after claims in British by a so-called Maori expert that the Maori welcome party would be asked to cover up were rubbished by New Zealand officials, the image made it clear that they had not been.
The Maori warrior was wearing a black thong but his tattooed buttocks were bare.
