Filming of the Vincent Ward-directed period drama River Queen is set to recommence in Wanganui and Ohakune on October 4, when English actress Samantha Morton returns to the cast.
Filming was delayed last month when Morton was hospitalised with severe influenza and secondary bacterial complications.
Producers Silverscreen Films said in a statement today that US star Kiefer Sutherland would return for the few days needed to complete his scenes with Morton, while other cast members, including Cliff Curtis, Stephen Rea and Temuera Morrison, have re-scheduled other work to complete the movie.
Filming in the region is expected to take eight weeks.
When filming was halted early in August only about 30 per cent of the movie had been shot.
Producers expected the film to be released late in 2005.
