A male choir singing in dwarvish, a Celtic drummer and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra have all played a part in creating the soundtrack for The Lord Of The Rings films. The details of the trilogy's music have been released on showbiz website E Online.
Canadian film composer Howard Shore was in Wellington in April working with the NZSO and a traditional Celtic drum player. However, the bulk of the score has been recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Shore said he inserted J.R.R. Tolkien's poems and songs into the music for authenticity
It will also include excerpts of Middle Earth languages including elvish, dwarvish and black speech, the orcs' evil language.
Irish singer Enya was also apparently composing a song for the trilogy.
