Anyone who has been to McDonald's will attest to the fact that for some reason the Coca-Cola at the fast food giant tastes particuarly - definitely better than it does at other outlets that serve it in paper cups.
For years rumours have circulated that the taste is credited to an extra serving of syrup in the mixture, and that the salty food at Macca's makes you more thirsty than usual.
However, the real secret that was kept since 1955, has finally been revealed in a New York Times article.
Apparently it all comes down to how to McDonald's Coke syrup is stored: They keep the sugary mixture in stainless steel containers, which ensure better preservation.
McDonald's confirms this on their website, stating that the fast food giant follows the guidelines set by Coca-Cola to make sure the beverage tastes exactly the same as when you buy it from the bottle.
