It's fair to say that relationships with exes can be complicated and awkward, however these stories will make your former partners seem tame.
It's true that no one wants to be dumped but in a new thread on secret sharing app Whisper singletons have revealed their exes' shocking behaviour after they broke up.
Taking advantage of the app's anonymity the users spare no gory details of their nightmare exes.
While many people will try to distant themselves from their former partners following a painful break up, several users revealed that their partners were not willing to accept this.

One user revealed: "He made over 47 different social media accounts to try and talk to me because I kept blocking him. I also had to change my number twice."
Another man revealed that his ex girlfriend made sure that she was a permanent fixture in his life.
He added: "I moved out of the house I lived in with my ex and she moved too, a block down from my new place."
In one extremely sad post the singleton revealed: "Mine couldn't accept we were over so broke into my house whilst I was asleep and beat me black and blue."
While many shared stories of their exes struggling to cope with a break up several other users revealed the bizarre ways that they tried to win them back.
One disturbing admission revealed: "My ex literally carved my first name into her forehead with a knife and sent me pictures. I haven't said a single word to her since."
Another shared his exes' bizarre logic: "'My ex assaulted me and my daughter.. Then lied about our break up by telling everyone I had cheated on her.. The weeks of "if you don't come back I'm going to kill myself" messages didn't help either.."
One woman revealed that she endured years of stalking from a past lover.
She said: "I dumped my ex for another guy and he stalked me for months. He even tried to kidnap me while I was walking home from work one night!
"It only stopped when I moved away after I married the new guy."

Several posters revealed the very understandable reasons that they called it quits with their former partners who, amazingly, struggled to understand the reasons for the break up.
Said one user: "He cheated on me, got his side b**** pregnant, when I found out and was trying to dump him he tried to convince me to stay with both of their nasty asses. Can I get a hell no?"
Another shared a story of an extremely keen boyfriend: "Ex wanted to get me pregnant so we could get married, it was our third date smh (shaking my head)."
