Pop-up store The Last Place has opened in Takapuna. The team behind The Last Place is now also working with Wellington boutique Good as Gold, to offer a wide range of brands through the store. Including new season's stock, the space will also sell one-off samples and end of lines for wholesale prices from brands including WeSC, Gram, Cameo, Finders Keepers, shoe brand Keep and local footwear label Chaos & Harmony. Open every day until Christmas, the store can be found at 11 Hurstmere Rd, Takapuna.
Fantastic footwear
Runway Shoes and Accessories has welcomed the arrival of the McQ range of footwear, the diffusion line from Alexander McQueen. The exclusive New Zealand debut of the range features a tight selection of heels and boots with typical McQueen details like buckles and studs. Ph (09) 522 0808.
Gok goes retro
British TV presenter Gok Wan has launched a collection of spectacles with Specsavers, called GW by Gok Wan. Inspired by "four of the most fashion-fabulous decades from the 40s through to the 70s", the 25-piece collection features statement frames including cat's eyes, aviators and oversized acetate glasses. The range is available now from Specsavers stores nationwide.
Fashion on show
If you're steering well clear of The Cloud, this may entice you: on October 19 and 20 there will be a showcase of New Zealand fashion from more than 50 top designers. Designers involved include Crane Brothers, Hailwood, Helen Cherry, Huffer, Kathryn Wilson, Lonely Hearts, Ruby, Salasai, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Trelise Cooper, World, Zambesi and more. Six free shows open to the public will be held as part of the REAL NZ Festival, with shows throughout the day at 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm.
