Grow up ...
Miu Miu raised a few eyebrows by featuring 14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld in their recent autumn/winter 2011 advertising campaign, but they seem to have grown up with the release of new Resort campaign images - which feature 34-year-old model Guinevere Van Seenus.
On pointe
Tamsin Cooper and the Royal New Zealand Ballet have launched a collection of accessories "fit for a princess", to celebrate the opening of The Sleeping Beauty on October 28. Reflecting the feminine and magical story, the collection features colours and fabrics that match the costumes RNZB dancers will wear on stage - including silk rosebud brooches, head bands, hair ties, a linen shoulder bag ($19.95) and a velvet coin purse, shoulder bag ($45) and eye mask ($25). The collection will launch in Wellington on October 28, and will be available to purchase from selected theatres on the tour, and online.
Summer sessions
The good people at World are hosting a series of summer styling sessions for those who want to sharpen up their looks and expand their fashion repertoire. Get along to the World Deluxe store in High St this evening, between 6-8pm, where the focus will be on business attire. The fabulous Denise L'Estrange-Corbet will be on hand to give advice and share her stories of being a business woman on the cutting edge of fashion. There will also be wine, nibbles and prizes to be won.
Carlson's move
Designer Tanya Carlson has opened her third boutique, in the Wellington space previously occupied by Unity Collection. The space, at 101 Customhouse Quay, will sell Carlson's summer collection alongside garments from New Zealand labels including Company of Strangers, Deborah Sweeney, Twenty-seven Names, Salasai, Cherry Cotton Candy, and Ingrid Starnes.
One day only
Local menswear label I Love Ugly is opening a one day only pop-up store this Saturday, inside The House of Waiwera in Parnell. They'll have the full spring collection, An Unconventional Camouflage, available to purchase. Saturday October 29, 285 Parnell Rd, Parnell, 10am-10pm.
Win with Viva
