Liz Mitchell's second collection of pretty lingerie, called Tailored, is in store exclusively at Farmers. This season Mitchell was inspired by 1960s La Dolce Vita glamour, with two collections that combine fashion with function. The Vintage Rose collection combines rose embroidered tulle with tricot knit fabric, camisoles, petticoats and French knickers in soft subtle shades. Versatile camisoles, chemises and matching briefs made from fine cotton knit jersey feature in the Rose Botanical collection, with script and botanical drawing prints. Prices start from $19.99 for knickers through to $59.99 for camis and slips.
A night of fantasy
Mollies' Frocktails event is back again for 2010, bringing together the worlds of fashion and design to raise funds and awareness for the Auckland City Mission. On May 1 the luxury hotel will be transformed into six different fantasy worlds by interior and fashion designers including Cybele, Sera Lilly, World, Kingan Jones and Stitch Ministry, with drinks, canapes, music and a fashion show to entertain guests throughout the evening, as well as an auction of a variety of goodies - including a new BMW for a long weekend, compliments of Team McMillan BMW. Tickets are $100, a portion going to the Auckland City Mission, and available from www.mollies.co.nz.
Flash dance
A flash mob is expected at Sylvia Park today to join in a mass karaoke of The Netherworld Dancing Toys hit For Today. Jackie Clark will lead the singalong, plus there will be dance shows, top models, gift bags, drinks, chocolates and more as the centre's 95 fashion stores stay open for an extra three hours to celebrate the start of winter. For more info, go to www.sylviapark.org
Fashion on show
Meanwhile, tomorrow Westfield Shore City will be alive with fashion parades, music, stalls and fun, with an expo style event that's dubbed as "not your typical Thursday night". Plus guest speaker Kerre Woodham will be adding to the fun. Get shopping from 5pm-9pm, April 22.
