Versace is the latest luxury brand to team up with chain store H&M to produce a collaborative collection; this one will "look back to the vibrant heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, colour and exuberance". There will also be cushions and a bedspread, possibly alluding to the brand's glamorous kitsch factor. The line will be available in H&M stores in November.
Lady Gaga has also been having a Versace moment, with creative director Donatella Versace opening up the archives to the singer for the first time since the passing of her brother, Versace founder Gianni, in 1997. Gaga has been photographed wearing several vintage pieces, like the bondage leather piece she wears in the music video for Edge of Glory, and the boldly coloured scarf prints from the spring 1991 collection.

"The best fashion show is always on the street. Always has been and always will." So says legendary New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham in a charming documentary that chronicles his life and work; a portrait of a talented but unassuming artist who has dedicated his life to highlighting fashion and social trends as seen on the streets and events of New York City. After having successful film festival screenings here and overseas, the Richard Press-directed film Bill Cunningham New York is getting a wider release in cinemas from July 7 - a definite Viva film recommendation.
* We have a poster and five double passes to the film to give away, plus 15 extra double passes for runners-up. To enter, send your name, address and phone number to vipviva@nzherald.co.nz, with "Bill Cunningham New York" in the subject line. Entries close July 3, winners announced July 6. One entry per person.
